In operation for 70 years, the entire camp was completely and heartbreakingly destroyed by the Black Saturday fires in 2009.
The French family rebuilt the Kinglake Ranges Wilderness Camp by 2011.
The decision to open to individual and small group adventure seekers was fuelled by a desire to see more people outdoors and experiencing the forest for the first time.
A day out in nature can be a deeply personal experience and spending the day at Kinglake Forest Adventures will be a memorable day.
Be it a day of daring adventure swinging in the treetops or hurtling and turtling over the mountain bike tracks.
Or a day of discovery with our interpretive experiences delving into three distinctly different stories:
Natural History:
Tells the story from a geological, flora and fauna perspective. It’s a very interesting place.
Inhabitation:
Tells the story of how humans have lived, worked and influenced the forest. From indigenous inhabitation to internment, from forestry to farming and water catchment to climate change. What has people’s role been?
Black Saturday Fires:
Tells the story of why it occurred, how it passed through the forest and how the forest and people have moved forward.
However you choose to spend your forest experience we look forward to spending the day trip with you.
